HEU EXTRA-BRAIN

EXTRA-BRAIN is a HORIZON Europe project funded by the European Union set to run for 38 months. The focus areas are lighter, less data-intensive and less energy-consuming AI models, optimized learning processes that require less input (data efficient AI) without degrading the quality of the output, Machine learning methods and architectures that deals with lower volumes such as transfer learning, one-shot learning, continuous and/or lifelong learning.

The project is aimed at developing next-generation AI solutions that offer functional flexibility, reliable generalisation performance and moderate demands for data and computing resources. This computationally efficient and performance-wise trustworthy AI will be achieved by mimicking selected features of the architecture of the brain’s NNs and their mechanisms for learning and processing information.
